The wine cooperative "San Antonio Abad" of Fuentealbilla was founded in February, 1958 to satisfy the framers’ need to support their crop production; almost all the population of the village were members.

Nowadays, there are 450 members who cultivate a total of 2200 has. of vineyards. The main varieties are: “Bobal” which represents 70% of the production, it is an autochthonous variety of the region with great potential; “Tempranillo”, which is 15% of the total, provides our wine with red fruity and smooth tastes, and “Macabeo” ,10% , is a white variety that produces very aromatic wine in this region. Other varieties that are also grown here are

“Cabernet Sauvignon”, “Syrah” and “Petit Verdot”, which provide our wine with outstanding organoleptical qualities. At the beginning wine was sold in bulk, but the current philosophy in our company is to conquer the market of bottled products. Therefore, in 2004 the new premises were built in a piece of land of 33,000 squared metres where the latest technological machinery was introduced as well as qualified personnel. As a result, nowadays we manufacture high quality products, and our bottled wine has received some prizes, for example: the “Baco de Oro 2005” for “Semi-sweet Rosée Maricubas”, and “Mezquita de oro” and ”Mezquita de plata” for ”Semi-sweet white and rosée Maricubas 2006”.
